Selena Gomez commented on Amy Schumer’s Instagram post that revealed she has been struggling with in-vitro fertilization (IVF).
Sending a heartfelt message to Amy, Gomez wrote, “I’m praying for you and chris. I’m sorry!” in Schumer’s comments section.
However, some fans started questioning Gomez’s heartfelt message. To which, the 27-year-old singer clarified her intentions.
She wrote in a follow-up comment, “Let me clear that up. I said I’m sorry she’s feeling that way. My mom went through the same thing. It’s hard on women’s heart.”
The “It Ain’t Me” singer revealed that her mother, Mandy Teefey, had to struggle with infertility.
A couple of years ago, Teefey paid tribute to Scarlett, the daughter she lost to miscarriage in 2011. She welcomed her daughter, Gracie, with her husband Brain in 2013.
Teefey took to Instagram to pay tribute to Scarlett. She wrote, “Thank you to all the fans who honored our Scarlett yesterday. Dec. 17th will never be the same, but we decide to celebrate her by writing her letters on red balloons and releasing them.”
In a candid Instagram post on Thursday, Schumer told her followers she was “a week into IVF and feeling really run down and emotional,” sharing a photo of her bruised stomach from hormone injections.
Asking fans to share their advice, Schumer wrote, “If anyone went through it and if you have any advice or wouldn’t mind sharing your experience with me please do. My number is in my bio.”
“We are freezing my eggs and figuring out what to do to give Gene a sibling,” she added. Schumer welcomed her son, Gene Attell, in May 2019 with her husband, Chris Fischer.
