On the Dr. Oz Show, NeNe Leakes discussed her health scare, as well as other ongoing GI issues, with host Dr. Mehmet Oz.
She revealed that she had past health issues that might have been a result of her show Real Housewives of Atlanta. She had a pulmonary embolism in 2013.
Leakes said she has a lot of gastrointestinal issues while shooting for the Bravo TV series. She said factors, including stress, caused hemorrhoids and constipation during the show.
Dr. Oz asked Leakes, “You guys have been having a lot of intense discussions on Housewives?” The reality star said, “Yeah, we have.”
He then asked Leakes about how things were going with her costars Cynthia Bailey and Kenya Moore. She said, “Who? I didn’t tell you I had something wrong with my hearing,” trying to change the subject, “I didn’t tell you that, did I?”
The 52-year-old star noted that only Bailey is an “acquaintance of hers” after Dr. Oz called both Bailey and Moore “two friends, two acquaintance of [hers].”
She told Dr. Oz. “We’re in a much better place than we were in the beginning of the season.”
In October, Leakes told Us Weekly, “Cynthia has never tried to get me and Kenya back to together. She’s always tried to get Kenya back with other people, but where I was concerned, she’s never tried to get us together. For whatever reason, I don’t know why that is.”
Leakes said she is fine with her being a part of the series in spite of not having a relationship with the former Miss USA.
“I think Kenya’s great for the show. So I didn’t feel any kind of way other than, look, I’m here on the show,” she told Us Weekly. “I’ve been on the show for many years and I want the show to stay around for the next 10 or 15 years.”
