Men who use Viagra, the little blue pill, for treating erectile dysfunction (ED) are being warned about buying fake Viagra pills online.
Viagra manufacturer, Pfizer, has warned that there are numerous websites selling Viagra online but only 20 percent of them are genuine.
The pharma giant also warned that counterfeit Viagra pills are illegal and may contain toxic elements that could be lethal.
According to Plymouth Live, some of the ingredients found in fake Viagra tablets are drywall, road paint, talcum powder, detergent, antifungal drugs, and even amphetamines.
Registered Pharmacist David Massie at Dr. Andrews Online Pharmacy said, “The number of dangerous things found in fake Viagra is staggering. The individuals behind the propagation of these counterfeit pills do not consider your health when producing them, only their profits.”
“When a doctor or pharmacist prescribes you Viagra, they consider all the other medications you might taking. Unlicensed sites are concerned only with their financial gain and not with drug interactions – mixing inappropriate medications together can often result in death,” he added.
Massie continued, “At Dr Andrews, we encourage you to be vigilant in ensuring what you are taking is real, approved and regulated Viagra from a registered source.”
Fake Viagra pills may have rough edges, while the genuine one has smooth edges. Pfizer’s Viagra is available in the pack of four tablets, while the fake ones come in more than four tablets.
Viagra pill is always solid blue and there should be no variations in color. If you find the package is poorly printed with expiration date or without an expiration date, it is fake. If you buy Viagra pills online and have any doubt about the package or the pills, contact your physician right away.
