Husband of Jessica Starr, a popular meteorologist at Fox 2 Detroit, speaks out for the first time since she died by suicide in December.
Jessica reportedly did not suffer from depression or take antidepressants before undergoing ophthalmic surgery and ultimately committing suicide eight weeks after the surgery in December, claimed her husband, Dan Rose.
He recently spoke about her suicide to Fox 2 Detroit, the TV station where Jessica used to work. He said, “Prior to the procedure, Jessica was completely normal, very healthy. There was no depression, there was no antidepressants, there was no underlying issue. I want to make that absolutely clear. Jessica was incredibly normal – there wasn’t a long battle with depression.”
Starr’s death in December was declared on air by Fox 2 Detroit, where she worked since 2012. She had been off the air while recovering from her eye surgery.
Jessica reportedly felt off after the surgery and tried to address her issues with several doctors. After one of her appointments, her husband asked her what was going on.
“She looked at me and she said ‘Dan, it’s like my eyes and my brain aren’t communicating like they used to.’” “’I can’t process like I used to. I’m not visualizing things like I used to.’” Dan disclosed their conversation with the TV channel.
Rose discovered various recordings and a suicide note after Jessica took her own life, which has elucidated what she went through at that time.
Since Jessica’s death, Dan has been trying to focus on his kids, both under age 6.
He told to Fox 2 Detroit, “She was here one day and she was gone the next.”
