Kourtney Kardashian has recently revealed that she had no idea about health and wellness as a teenager, according to PEOPLE.
The 42-year-old reality star is one of the most wellness-oriented celebrities now, but growing up, she “didn’t know anything really about health or wellness.”
In a new video for Vogue Paris, Kourtney told model Miranda Kerr that she used to feel clueless about that world as a teenager, but she said she used to exercise with sister Kim Kardashian West.
She said, “I did work out, starting like, in high school. Kim and I used to work out.”
Kerr asked Kourtney what kind of workouts she would do. She started gushing about Billy Blanks’ Tae Bo classes.
“Oh my god we were obsessed!” Kourtney said.
Kerr said. “I did the DVDs! I made my grandma do one with me.”
Kourtney replied, “No way! It’s the best workout. Especially for like, your obliques and your abs. and we would do back-to-back classes, like two classes in a row.”
Apart from taking Billy Blanks classes, Kourtney would try to eat healthy foods, but she did not really know what it meant.
She said, “I just remember so many trends, like Atkins diet and so many different things.”
Kourtney, who is the founder of the lifestyle website Poosh, has figured out what works best for her body. She now follows a vegan diet.
She said, “When I had Mason, I remember Nicole Richie was like, ‘You have to read this book,’ it’s called Super Baby Food. So like, when I read that, it was all about like organic fruits and vegetables and really giving them like, no processed foods and everything from the earth.”
“It kind of like, snowballed, and I think my journey was so much a part of our show, from me learning about organic stuff,” the model continued. “I used to go to my sisters’ refrigerators and clean them out, and everyone thought I was crazy. And I would clean out the pantries because none of us grew up that way.”
More and more celebrities are going vegan and Kourtney said she is not sure what motivated her to follow it in the first place. She said, “I just decided to do it. It’s definitely better for our planet.”
