The lives of Kardashians have always been filled with drama. And this time again, it does not look so good.
Kim Kardashian has been seen at a doctor’s office getting tested for lupus in the trailer of Keeping Up With the Kardashians Season 17. She believes that she has lupus.
The 38-year-old said in the trailer, “I feel this in my bones. I probably have lupus.”
Lupus is a chronic autoimmune disease characterized by the inflammation of the organs and tissues. Receiving a diagnosis of lupus could be devastating.
Speaking about lupus, Dr. Jill Buyon told Women’s Health, “There is extended remission where, for all intents and purposes, we might think we’ve cured the disease in some individuals, but there is no cure.”
In another scene, Kim’s mom, Kris Jenner, was seen reassuring her and trying to calm her down with her teary eyes. Jenner said, “Let’s stay positive until we get some results.”
Though the exact cause is unknown, lupus can be caused by genetic predisposition or environmental factors such as infections, drug reactions, and constant sun exposure. Since lupus is incurable, doctors recommend steroids to alleviate the symptoms.
Kim already has psoriasis, which is also an immune-mediated disease characterized by the symptoms of skin rashes that are raised, red, scaly, and itchy. She also had preeclampsia during her first two pregnancies. Jenner said, “This family will never fall apart, for some reason, things are a little bit off.”
