Khadijah Haqq McCray, 37, has recently revealed that she had a “pre-term labor scare,” which landed her in the hospital.
Haqq McCray, who is expecting her third child with husband Bobby McCray, an NFL pro, revealed Thursday that she had to be hospitalized a few weeks ago, but now she is at home on bed rest.
Posting a selfie from her hospital bed, she said, “I didn’t share right away because the most important thing was that myself and the baby were healthy. I had a pre-term labor scare a few weeks ago and was hospitalized. I’m home on bed rest now, feeling good, and so thankful for my doctors.”
“Pregnancy for me has always come with a multitude of challenging symptoms and scares,” Haqq McCray continued. “I know I’m not alone, I just know it’s not easy to talk about for so many reasons. But with the support of my family and friends I can do just that. I figured what better time than now?”
The Dash Dolls star explained that she wanted to share her story because “there’s a mom or two in the same position,” adding, “Let’s be there for each other!”
Haqq McCray announced her pregnancy in August, in an Instagram post. At the time, she said, “I’m pregnant!!! I couldn’t wait to share that my family is growing and we will soon welcome a new baby in our home.”
Last November, Haqq McCray revealed she was teaching her sister about motherhood. At the time, she told PEOPLE, “I didn’t realize until she got pregnant how long I’ve waited to share this with her. She’s been helping me raise my kids, and that’s been really great.”
“I can’t wait to have her kid over at our house, be in the bath, and playing with me and my husband,” she added. “I really look forward to that. Everything we do in our lives is shared.”
Khadijah and Bobby share son Christian, 10, and daughter Celine, 6. She is also best known for playing Penny Lent in the 2005 Disney superhero film, Sky High, along with her twin sister, Malika.
