Hugh Jackman Underwent Skin Cancer Treatment

On Monday, “X-Men” star Hugh Jackman revealed that he had another skin cancer growth, which has been removed from his nose. He has urged people to use sunscreen.

The 50-year-old actor posted on his Instagram account, with his photo showing a bandage across his nose. Since 2013, it was his fifth known basal cell carcinoma removal.

The Logan actor wrote on his Instagram post, “An example of what happens when you don’t wear sunscreen. Basal Cell. The mildest form of cancer but serious, nonetheless. PLEASE USE SUNSCREEN and get regular check-ups.”

Jackman, in the past, attributed his skin cancer to not having used sunscreen while he was growing up in Australia. He now gets regular checkups.

The Australian actor has even launched a range of sunscreens for children. Basal cell carcinoma is one of the most common types of skin cancer, afflicting over 90 percent of skin cancer patients in the United States. Such types of skin cancers rarely spread; however, if left untreated, the surrounding tissue may get damaged or disfigured.
