Harry Brant, a rising model and son of American supermodel Stephanie Seymour and industrialist Peter M. Brant, has died of accidental overdose, at the age of 24.
His family said in a statement to The New York Times, Brant died on Sunday of an accidental overdose, adding, “his life was cut short by this devastating disease.”
“He was a creative, loving and powerful soul that brought light into so many people’s hearts,” his family added. “He was truly a beautiful person inside and out.”
Brant, who had appeared in Italian Vogue and in campaigns for the fashion house Balmain, has previously released a unisex makeup line with his brother, Peter Brant Jr., for MAC cosmetics, according to NBC News.
In 2016, Brant told W Magazine, “I think people can definitely express themselves in a great way through makeup because it is all about fantasy and turning yourself into someone you might not necessarily be on an everyday basis, so you kind of get to escape for a night with this new persona. That’s what I always did.”
Brant’s parents told the news outlet that he had been planning to enter rehab this year, hoping to play a key role in the creative side of the Interview – the magazine that his father publishes.
The family said, “He achieved a lot in his 24 years, but we will never get the chance to see how much more Harry could have done.” Harry and his brother Peter Jr. were often described as the male version of wealthy celebrity sisters Paris and Nicky Hilton, and they were known fixtures at New York City’s hottest parties, being front-row attendees of top international fashion shows and being fashionistas everywhere they went, according to Pink Villa.
