Goo Hara, a former member of the famous South Korean band “K-Pop” girl group was found dead on Sunday, according to Yonhap News Agency.
The news agency said the body of Hara, 28, was found at her home in southern Seoul. However, the police were not available for further details.
Better known as Hara in Asia, Goo had spoken out several times against cyberbullying.
In June, she said it was difficult for her to cope with depression and urged social media users for positive comments. Later, she was found unconscious at her home and was hospitalized.
In 2008, Hara made her debut with the band, which was one of the early bands that become famous, attracting a large fan base in China, Japan and other countries.
Goo went on to become a solo artist in Japan and even held a concert earlier this month after a deal with a South Korean management company was terminated.
She is not the first ex-member of the K-Pop girl group who was a victim of cyberbullying. In October, another former member of the K-Pop band, Sulli, was found dead at her home in Seongnam-si. Sulli (Choi- Jin-ri) was a close friend of Goo, who also spoke against cyberbullying. She was 25 years of age and was a victim of severe depression.
