Chuck Woolery, a former TV and game show host, tweeted Sunday that “everyone is lying” about COVID-19 – the infection caused by the new coronavirus – including doctors, the Democrats, the CDC, and media.
And a day later, he revealed that his son was diagnosed with COVID-19.
On Sunday night, without citing any evidence, Woolery wrote, “The most outrageous lies are the ones about Covid 19. Everyone is lying. The CDC, Media, Democrats, our Doctors, not all but most, that we are told to trust.”
The 79-year-old added, “I think it’s all about the election and keeping the economy from coming back, which is about the election. I’m sick of it.”
Woolery’s tweet was retweeted by President Donald Trump.
On Monday afternoon, Woolery reviled that his son tested positive for the disease. He tweeted, “To further clarify and add perspective, Covid-19 is real and it is here. My son tested positive for the virus.”
He added that he feels for “those suffering and especially for those who have lost loved ones.”
However, it is unclear which of his sons was diagnosed with COVID-19. Woolery’s Twitter account no longer existed on Thursday.
Woolery was the host of Wheel of Fortune, Love Connection, Greed, Lingo, and The Dating Game. In the United States, the virus has affected more than 3.6 million people and killed over 141,000. Globally, COVID-19 has sickened nearly 14 million and killed 592,000 so far.
