Australian fitness enthusiast Emily Skye has stunned her 2.6 million Instagram followers with her latest photo. She launched an online fitness program called Emily Skye Fit on her Instagram page with pictures of her body transformation from 2014 to 2019, asking her followers to spot the difference.
However, she did not post an image of weight loss – it was all about mental and physical strength.
Skye wrote, “This isn’t about what’s ‘better’ or what you ‘prefer’ this is about what I prefer and I will always prefer being happy, strong and healthy — mentally and physically.”
In her a side-by-side image, Skye posted an image from 2014 flaunting her ripped six-pack in orange mini shorts and the 2019 image flaunting an even stronger body.
The Instagram influencer explained that one of the biggest changes she has been proud of is overcoming her depression and self-esteem issues.
Skye wrote, “Out of all the changes I’ve made with myself I am most proud of overcoming depression and self esteem issues and I’ve learnt to love and believe in myself. I have days where I feel insecure, down and think negative things about myself – I’m human after all BUT for the most part I am positive and kind towards myself.”
Another change she made was growing her glutes and strengthening her posterior chains.
“I had a functional goal which was to be able to fire my glutes properly and correct my posture and balance. But I also had a physical goal which was to build more ‘shape’ and a butt! It took many years but I am proud of what I’ve been able to achieve through hard work and consistency – Glute activation work, heavy weights, isolation exercises and lots of nutritious food,” continued the 34-year-old fitness guru. With a gentle reminder to anyone who is trying to achieve their fitness goal, Skye concluded, “If you have a fitness goal remember IT TAKES TIME so be persistent and don’t give up!”
