Selma Blair has been regularly updating her fans on her condition since she has been diagnosed with multiple sclerosis (MS) last year. In spite of several difficulties, she has managed to live with MS. Multiple sclerosis or MS is a condition that affects the central nervous system, which in turn affects the brain, spinal cord, and optic nerves. This American actress has used her platform to shed light on the condition and how has she managed to cope with it.
This 47-year-old actress of Brown’s Requiem fame has posted her photograph with a shaved head on Instagram. Blair gave a caption to photo, “Today is a banner day”.
Selma Blair, the cruel intentions star has provided details of how the condition of multiple sclerosis affected her immune system. “I am being discharged from the care of an incredible team of nurses and techs and a visionary Dr. who believes in my healing as much as I do,” were few lines written by her in the caption. “
This American actress also added to her caption, “This has been a process. And will continue to be one. I am immunocompromised for next three months at least. So no kisses, please. I wanted to make sure all the complications here were my private space. And we got through brilliantly.” She said she will reveal more details about her recovery path “when I am ready.”
Earlier this week, in another post on Instagram, she mentioned that she’s been taking warm baths regularly to relieve muscle spasms, the common side effect associated with MS.
“So. I spin the wheel again. The Rolodex of selfies. I stop on a pic a friend took of me trying to stop spasms by lying in warm water with a heavy towel with minerals in a bath. Specific minerals,” she provided a caption to a photo of herself underwater.
She also revealed her new normal to People magazine, saying that she is very proud of her son’s tough nature as they fight the disease together.
“He’s had to endure a lot; he’s seen a lot,” she informed the publication of Arthur, who has seen his mom falling down the stairs. Regardless of what he’s seen firsthand, Blair says her son does not consider her as weak: “He says, ‘Mummy’s not sick. Mummy’s brave’.”
Lately, the American actress opened up about her diagnosis with MS in a conversation with ABC’s Good Morning America host Robin Roberts. In the middle of the conversation on Selma Blair MS treatment, she suffered spasmodic dysphonia — a disorder that lead her voice to cease after a few lines.
