It seems like Josh Allen is not going to stop at AFC Player of the Month for September even after picking up a left shoulder injury.
With just five minutes left in the 2nd quarter, Allen made a remarkable scramble and shoveled off a conversion to Stefon Diggs. Allen had to run to the locker rooms after the play, with the Buffalo Bills settled for a 24-yard Tyler Bass FG to extend their lead to 17-6.
The 24-year-old quarterback then returned to action with a black wrap on his left arm and completed the game. So what kind of injury he picked up?
Well, the good news is Josh did not hurt his clavicle but the injury appears to be a mild, grade 1 AC joint sprain.
After feeling a mild pop, he ran into the locker room and got an X-ray. He returned with a black brace on the shoulder, just before the end of the half.
Later, Allen said, “It’s just the left shoulder. It’s not the right one, thank God. I was able to play through the pain. I’ll get some treatment this week. It shouldn’t inhibit anything.”
“It was my left shoulder, it didn’t bother me too bad,” the Bills quarterback added. “If it’s the right shoulder, it’s a different story. But knock on wood, it’s the left shoulder. I knew it wasn’t a collarbone right away, so it was just kind of pain tolerance at that point.”
Typically, grade 1 AC joint sprains clear up with 1 to 3 weeks, and Allen is a big boy, locked, and loaded.
Allen is a tough competitor, a warrior, a team leader, and the best NFL player. He is indeed an MVP candidate. His team is 4-0, and he is unbreakable. He is unstoppable and now it is not PFF vs Buffalo; it’s Josh Allen vs the World.
