Not only health officials but also celebrities are leaving no stone unturned in trying to stop the spread of the ongoing coronavirus outbreak.
Celebrities are using social media platforms to spread the word about the key role of social distancing in preventing the spread of the coronavirus, aka COVID-19.
For instance, last week, Kevin Bacon took to Instagram to start the campaign called #IStayHomeFor, which can encourage fellow celebs and people alike to follow the CDC guidelines to stay home and maintain social distance.
The campaign asks you to hold up a sign that reads #IStayHomeFor those who you feel passionate about and protect them from the ongoing coronavirus crisis.
Bacon shared a video in which he says he is staying home to protect his 54-year-old wife, Kyra Sedgwick.
He then tagged his celebrity friends, Elton John, David Beckham, Jimmy Fallon, Kevin Hart, Demi Lovato, and Brandi Carlile, asking them to join the campaign by sharing whom they are staying home for and tag six of their friends to keep the campaign going.
Bacon wrote, “The more folks involved, the merrier—we’re all connected by various degrees (trust me, I know!).”
Lovato took the challenge and wrote, “There’s a lot of things going on in our world right now, but if there’s one thing that matters it’s spreading love.” Her sign read, “#IStayHomeFor my parents, my neighbors, and my health.”
Eva Longoria said she is staying home to protect her husband, José “Pepe” Bastón, and their one-year-old son, Santi. She also said she is staying home for healthcare workers who are working hard to contain the virus.
Stranger Things star Millie Bobby Brown said she is staying home for her family, her grandmother, and those who are vulnerable and older. The goal of the challenge is to protect not only your loved ones but also everyone from the ongoing pandemic.
