Former U.S. Women’s National Soccer Team goalkeeper Hope Solo has recently announced that she is pregnant with twin just months after revealing devastating miscarriage.
While co-hosting the “beIN SPORTS Weekend Winners” show, the 38-year-old reviled that she and her husband, Jerramy Stevens, who is a former NFL player, are expecting a boy and a girl.
Solo said, “Yes, my husband and I get to practice equality from the very beginning with one boy and one girl. Miniature soccer team on the way.”
The show shared the video clip on Twitter on Monday. Solo retweeted the video clip by adding a boy and girl baby emoji.
She announced her twin pregnancy just a few months after she revealed her devastating miscarriage with twins.
Solo revealed that she had to suffer a loss in February 2018. At the time, the couple was trying for a while to conceive.
A week after the miscarriage, Solo went to see her doctor and learned that she had actually been pregnant with twins. She said, “One of the eggs was considered an ectopic pregnancy.”
“The doctor said I was hours from dying,” Solo told Elle. “They ended up having to remove my fallopian tube.”
After that, Solo told Elle that she remained strong throughout the process of in-vitro fertilization (IVF). She said, “We see life and death very often. So much of what we do can be catastrophic if we make mistakes. It’s not for the faint of heart.”
