Australian pop singer Natalie Imbruglia is pregnant with her first child – thanks to IVF and a sperm donor.
She announced her pregnancy with a side-note to the news that she has inked a new record deal with BMG, and has a new album on the way.
On her Instagram post, she wrote, “I have been busy writing for the past year and a half and can’t wait to share these new songs with you all.”
She revealed that she will be giving birth to her first child in the coming months.
She wrote, “And as you can see from the pic.. there is another announcement… (no I haven’t swallowed a watermelon). I’m expecting my first child this Autumn.”
The 44-year-old singer said her pregnancy was the result of IVF and sperm donor.
She continued, “For those of you that know me, this has been something I have wanted for a very long time and I’m blessed that this is possible with the help of IVF and a sperm donor.”
However, Natalie said she would not be making further public comments on her journey to falling pregnant. For the new record, she has been working with former Strokes guitarist Albert Hammond Jr. and Scottish singer-songwriter KT Tunstall.
