According to the Franklin County public health officials, there are now 14 confirmed cases of Legionnaires’ disease at Mount Carmel Grove City.
The county’s health department said that is up from 13 cases reported on Wednesday.
Seven of the confirmed cases of Legionnaires’ disease are male and seven are female.
Earlier this week, Mount Carmel confirmed that one person has died.
Mount Carmel Health System has said that the staff and health officials have been working to find the source of the bacteria at the hospital.
Public health officials said the first patient who was diagnosed with the disease was admitted to the Mount Carmel Grove City on April 29, the day after the hospital opened.
On Thursday, the hospital said, “Water restrictions for floors two through seven have been lifted after implementing several measures to address the spread of Legionella.”
The officials said that the incubation period of Legionnaires’ disease is 14 days, so more diagnoses are possible.
