USA Less has voluntarily recalled all lots of Leopard Miracle Honey, a sexual enhancement supplement marketed for eliminating impotence and infertility. The recall comes after the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) analyzed and discovered that the so-called “all-herbal” miracle honey was actually laced with the drug Sildenafil Citrate, which is found in a popular erectile dysfunction (ED) pill, Viagra.
The FDA warns that Sildenafil Citrate could adversely interact with nitrates (prescribed for chest pain), such as nitroglycerin. If taken together, one may experience low blood pressure to a potentially dangerous level. People with high blood pressure, diabetes, high cholesterol, or congestive heart failure often take nitrates.
According to the FDA’s newsletter, Miracle Honey is now considered an unapproved drug because its safety and efficacy have not been established due to the presence of Sildenafil Citrate, which is why it has been recalled.
However, in spite of the recall, Leopard Miracle Honey remains the main feature on the company’s website, leopardhoneyus.com. The website claims that Leopard Miracle Honey “eliminates impotence and infertility,” “enhances nutrient absorption and metabolism,” “supports the immune system,” and “intensifies the body’s muscular increase.”
The website also claims that its product is “rich in proteins, amino acids, vitamins, digestive and metabolic enzymes,” and “an instant energy source.”
Leopardhoneyus.com also claims that its product contains “several ingredients of the honey, including ginseng root, glucose, cinnamon powder, and carob powder;” however, it made no mention of Sildenafil Citrate (Viagra).
It is not clear yet whether Leopard Miracle Honey will be removed from the company’s website.
The FDA has urged all medical professionals as well as patients to report any side effects or adverse events that may have occurred with the use of Miracle Honey.
