It seems like Raven-Symoné is feeling much better after shedding some pounds.
On Saturday, on an Instagram Live session, while driving with wife Miranda Pearman-Maday, Raven opened up about her weight loss journey.
The 35-year-old actress said, “Pounds down, pounds down. Check out the chin. You see that chin? If you all watch Raven’s Home literally right now, and then come on this live and see this joint, I got a whole different face going on. It’s a whole pounds down journey.”
“Just so you guys know, I am 28 lbs. down. I lost a s— ton of weight,” she added.
Miranda, 33, told Raven, “You’re incredible honey. You’re doing so good.” Raven said, “Right now I’m doing a 48-hour fast so we’re on that journey right now.”
Raven and Miranda are very much enjoying their married life after secretly tying the knot in June 2020. At the time, Raven surprised her fans by announcing her marriage with Miranda on Instagram after remaining extremely private about their relationship.
In July 2020, Raven told PEOPLE about being body-shamed throughout the early 2000s when she was a rising star on Disney Channel.
She said at the time, “There was definitely a seesaw within my mind. I prevailed over it because at the end of the day, it’s like, ‘Come on, people, everybody’s a different size.’”
In 2017, Raven spoke about being fat-shamed. At the time, in an interview with PEOPLE Now, she said, “[They said] I was too big to be doing an hour and a half concert. ‘I don’t know how she can dance being that big.’ And I was like, ‘I still did it!’”
“I was on tour forever because it’s not about your size, it’s about what you have to say, if you can sing or dance, and performing,” she added. “It’s not about your size.”
However, she said at the time she was pleased that people are more accepting today.
“I love embracing your body,” she said. “In this day and age, you have all kinds, and it’s funny, it’s serious, it’s every color, it’s every head shape, it’s every hair.”
“And there’s androgyny, and there’s LGBT coming in, and it feels good,” The Cheetah Girls star added, “We didn’t have it enough last time and I guess that’s what the past is for — to make sure the present is what it needs to be.” The story was published on PEOPLE.
