It seems like the women of Britain are refusing to let lockdown boredom put the lid on passion.
Elle Sera, the maker of a “Female Viagra” that was launched before the first lockdown, has found that the sales have soared amid the pandemic as women are looking to add spice to their relationships.
Elissa Corrigan’s supplement uses a blend of five botanical substances, which help improve libido and mood, increase sexual arousal, and boost energy.
Corrigan, 35, who appeared on Bear Grylls’s survival show Treasure Island, created Elle Sera.
The product, which is called the Empowerment Pill, contain natural “maca extract, tribulus terrestris extract, Siberian ginseng, ginkgo leaf, and beetroot,” according to the Daily Mail, U.K.
Taking this so-called “Female Viagra” is a much more glamorous affair than taking those little blue Viagra pills.
The pills come in bright gold and in a bespoke brassware container if you buy the £150 ($204) starter pack.
According to the company, the box is said to have its own therapeutic effect as the metal helps with “immunity and detoxing.”
Corrigan said sales shot up 400% in the latest lockdown. She said, “You would think that with couples being stuck at home, with not much to do, their sex lives would be rocking.”
“But no,” she continued. “People have got too comfortable watching Netflix. They have lost desire, energy, and all motivation.”
“Add in the fact that everyone is lazing around in pajamas and joggers… it’s no wonder we are feeling less attractive,” Corrigan added. “Men have Viagra – but what do women have to make us feel sexier? When you feel sexier and flirtier from the inside, your whole mindset changes.”
